Inspire XII Foundation began strategic planning and program development in January 2007. An independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Inspire XII is the realization of an idea put forth by Dr. Marty Rutledge and Tremain Lewis, and modeled after the Kalamazoo Promise of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Founded by a group of concerned community members, Inspire XII seeks to revitalize the community of Orange and its two school districts, West Orange-Stark and Little Cypress-Mauriceville, through the introduction of a unique scholarship program. This program would not only create an atmosphere of excitement and learning in the schools of Orange, but would also inspire the local community to become more involved in creating a better, more stimulating city. The Inspire XII Promise is a plan of economic development within the frame-work of a scholarship program.
With this in mind, the Board of Directors founded the Inspire XII Foundation with the express purpose of creating a college-bound culture in our schools. Most Americans live in a college-bound culture, and rightfully so. College is a gateway to economic opportunity and social mobility. Research demonstrates that college graduates have higher employment rates, higher job status, and earn higher wages. Even more important, a college education creates engaged and ambitious citizens that carry such qualities well beyond their college years.
Inspire XII was incorporated on January 8, 2007 under the name of NATA, Inc. Our business location is currently 908 Pine, in the Orange Camp Fire building. The business location is primarily set up for general office duties and informal meetings. Inspire XII Foundation has two employees; Tremain Lewis, who operates as the Chief Executive Officer, and Rebecca Patterson, who operates as the Executive Director. Between them, Tremain and Rebecca have 20 years of management experience.
